To everyone
from church
This trip was been so much fun. First we work up
and ate amazing food!!! Second we got dressed and went to work for about two and
half hours now that don’t sound fun but it was. And then we went to the beach and
swam and had lots of fun getting beat up by waves. After we did that we came back
and bathed then hung out some more. Then once again we ate amazing food!! And I
love being on this trip. It’s so fun and amazing. And I have gotten closer to some
girls. My favorite part of today was going to the ocean and swimming. (And not getting
sun burned)(Ya) well that’s all for now.

Day 2 of our mission trip to Galveston was a wonderful time. We started out back
at the BSM and continued with the sheet rock and scraping of the old floor as well
as windows, gardening and painting.
The students did a great job and seemed to have it in high gear. This was a shortened day due to an event being held at the facility. Our plan for tomorrow is to be on the
site and working by 7:30 A.M. I believe
we can finish all of the tasks at hand by Friday.
After we finished at the Baptist Student Center, we headed to the beach for an afternoon
of just chillin’, swimmin’ and eatin’.
For some, I think it was their first time to swim in the ocean. Once again, Amanda
outdid herself along with Jami in the food department as we had grilled hamburgers
with all of the trimmings. I had a
couple of nice swims with the students. Bobby took a side trip to wet a few hooks.
I’m not sure if he caught much or not. After a few hours, we headed back to the
church for an evening of rest and another wonderful meal. Tonight homemade cheese enchiladas!
The folks don’t want Amanda to go back home.
This morning as we were having breakfast, we saw a suspicious young man outside
the church walking around. Honestly,
he looked a little scary. He continued to do this through much of breakfast.
I, then, heard that he was in the building so I wanted to see how he had gotten
in. I sat down beside his and felt a calmness come over me. This was one
of those opportunities to witness. I began to talk with him and could see he was hungry.
Ken, who is our coordinator, was with me and we could see he was hungry. We asked if he would like to have breakfast
and he politely agreed. This was a
Yea God moment for us. We fed his physical
needs and then had the time to ask about his spiritual ones.
All in all, it was a great day. We miss all of you and hop you will check back every
day for more updates. Until next time, Keep Looking Up!
