Today we went back to the Baptist
Student Center to find a list of 7 things that we had to do for the day. We all
thought we were done with scraping the floors, but we had even more scraping to
do. I helped my mom and P.J. do some of the scraping, but honestly they did most
of the work. After working for a while we had lunch and all of us were completely
tired and lazy. We didn’t have much motivation to continue working. Luckily Bobby
said he was done working so we were able to quit working “because” Bobby was done.
We ended up getting all the things on the list done and then we headed to Bolivar
Peninsula. We got on the ferry (which I have been on many times before) but some
of the other kids have never been on a ferry before. We crossed over to the Bolivar
and looked around at some of the devastation that still hasn’t been cleaned up.
There were some new buildings and even a brand new school, but there was still a
lot of debris everywhere and houses that were totally ruined. After that we got
back on the ferry to go back to Galveston. On the ferry we were taking a group picture
when J.D. sees something wet on his shirt. A bird had pooped on his shirt while
we had been feeding the birds. P.J. picked up a piece of bread, wiped off the poop
on J.D.’s shirt and then she fed it to the bird. Everyone thought it was hilarious.
When we got back we ate some more amazing food that Amanda cooked and that was pretty
much our day.

My Blog Day 4
We are now in the homestretch of our
trip. We finished all that we had hoped to today. A full day ahead of schedule is
hard to believe.
Our students and sponsors have something to boast about in the
Lord. It has been so good to see all of them join together for a common bond and
purpose.
The BSM was so appreciative of our labor of love.
I have so much to be
thankful for this week as we prepare for a day of fun on the Gulf Coast. To Bobby,
Amanda and Jami, I couldn’t have done it without you. The fellowship, food and genuine
love for our students have been a wonderful addition to this trip. To our students,
you have acted quite well this week. Your church and parents would be very proud
of you. You worked harder this week than many do in a month or more. You can look
back on this week and say a job well done. To our church body, we love you very
much and thank you for all of the prayers and financial support. This trip has been
a God send and hopefully just the beginning of many to come. I am not sure what
we will be doing all day Friday, however; I do know tomorrow evening, we will be
having a cook-out at my mom’s as well as some serious swimming in her pool. Finally,
I would like to thank George Draper for making this communication possible. His expertise
in this area has been a great success and huge help to me. Thanks G!
Until next time,
Keep Looking Up!
