First Impressions Ministry
The mission
of the First Impressions Ministry is to greet first time visitors, welcome them
to our worship service, and assist all worshippers who enter the church. It is very
important that Greeters demonstrate Christ-like love with a sincere, friendly smile.
Such persons must demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in the way they greet visitors
and members. “Our first impression is a lasting impression.”
Greeter Attributes:
- Friendly
- Warm
- Patient
- Kind
- Cheerful
- Enthusiastic
- Cordial
- Wholehearted
Every church member is a greeter, but some are specialists.
Role of a Greeter:
- Greet every visitor and member with a warm smile and firm handshake.
- Give all first-time visitors a welcome packet.
- Make sure every first-time visitor completes a visitor card.
- Date and give visitor cards to a coordinator or usher to give to the Pastor.
- Occasionally escort and assist visitors and members to the worship center.
“Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another as a good steward of the grace of God.” (1 Peter 4:9-10)
If you have the gift of hospitality, help or encouragement, are looking for a way to demonstrate Christ’s love in service to others, and are 16 years or older, please contact the First Impressions ministry (Billy Pierce) using the form below.
Note: All greeters must complete greeter orientation and training before they can actively serve.
