Born in Paris, Texas, Scooter was raised and calls “home” Whitewright, Texas.
The last of five children, Scooter dedicated his life to Christ at age 16, and shortly
thereafter committed his life to the ministry. He received his secondary education
at Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas and at Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Ft. Worth.
Revivals and various missions have taken Scooter all over the world to preach the
gospel of Christ. He has been to every state in America, except two – Rhode
Island and Hawaii. He has also made 7 trips to Israel, and is hopeful to make
one more final visit.
He was a Youth Minister for many years, serving in Carthage and Palestine, and later
at Park Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo and Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.
Knowing God was calling him to serve as a Pastor, Scooter left the Youth Ministry
to the young at heart (and body.) He Pastored at:

Through all of his Pastorates, Scooter has seen growth in attendance, baptisms,
offerings, and new members…often setting new records on all. Many of the churches
he pastored saw the new construction of sanctuaries, education buildings and family
life centers due to increased membership. In one church, alone, Scooter saw
attendance climb from 34 to over 1000 in five years, with an average of 100 baptisms
yearly, and a budget increase to nearly $1,000,000.00!
Scooter became
pastor of Lake View Christian Bible Church in February 2002. Since that time,
attendance has increased from 10 to an average of over 200. A newer and larger
sanctuary and additional classrooms were completed in 2003 and a new Youth Building
was built in 2005. Plans are underway for a new worship center to be built
in the near future.
As you can see, Scooter is committed to growing churches by reaching people for
Jesus, and to disciple them in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Scooter and his wife, Brenda, reside in San Angelo and are the parents of 3 grown
children.
